Frequently Asked Questions
What types of payment do you accept?
Cash and Checks are preferred. Venmo is available, and Credit Cards can only be used at the Southwest Harbor location.
Do you have Gift Certificates available?
Yes, I offer Gift Certificates in any dollar amount. They are also available for a Full Session with no amount written on the card. If you can’t connect with me in person we can arrange payment and delivery information through email.
Are any reimbursements available through Insurance or HSA/FSA accounts?
The Martin’s Point Wellness Wallet program covers reflexology in Maine. After your session I will email you a receipt that can be used for reimbursement. All sessions must be paid in full at the time of the visit.
Some individual HSA/FSA and Medicare’s Silver Sneakers also cover Reflexology.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours’ notice before your appointment if you wish to avoid a charge. Less than 24 hours or no-shows will be charged the full cost of the appointment. I prefer to reschedule you at the time of your call than to cancel your appointment.
If you need to reach me ON THE DAY of the appointment please call 207-664-8485 and leave a voicemail. Please understand that my phone is turned off during sessions and I will probably not answer your call.
What about snowstorms, injury, or illness?
Please reach out to me the night before if you have concerns. I will EMAIL you the night before or the day of if I have concerns. That way I can leave a very late or very early message if the timing of the storm changes. If school is cancelled we will probably also cancel. I will offer you an alternate day in the same week, which may be on the weekend if I can, to reschedule you asap.
Please let me know if you are ill or injured. I will reschedule you for your comfort and our combined health.
How will I be positioned for my reflexology session?
I use an anti-gravity chair for all my clients at this time. You will be reclined and offered choices of bolsters and blankets for your comfort. You will be reclined for the entire session. You can ask to be repositioned at any time during the session.
What should I wear for my reflexology session?
Please wear what you feel comfortable in. You will remain fully clothed, except for your shoes and socks, although it is possible to work with socks on if necessary. Many clients come from various types of employment and return to work after the session. I will be cleaning your feet before we begin, and your feet will be covered for warmth during the session.
Do I need to arrive early for my appointment?
Your appointment starts at the time you are booked for. For new clients, extra time for paperwork and consultation is built into the length of your appointment. If you arrive early, please understand that I will not be ready for you until the scheduled time of your appointment. I welcome you to come inside either of my locations, use the restroom, or help yourself to tea or water while you wait. Both my locations have great books to browse if you arrive early :)
Do you offer hand or ear reflexology?
At this time I only offer Foot Reflexology. I will gain my Hand Certification in the fall of 2025. And I will need hands to practice on during my certification process!
Do you belong to any professional reflexology organizations?
I am a member of MCR, the Maine Council of Reflexologists - www.reflexologyofmaine.org. and RAA, the Reflexology Association of America - www.reflexology-usa.org. I am also a participating friend of WRF, the World Reflexology Foundation - www.WorldReflexologyFoundation.org
Are you an ARCB board-certified Reflexologist?
At this time I am not. I am planning to take the newly updated exams in 2025.
Do you also receive reflexology?
Yes, I do. The reason I became a reflexologist was because I loved it so much. I enjoy both giving and receiving reflexology. I practice self-reflexology and see other professional reflexologists regularly.
What if the session is uncomfortable for me?
You can ask me to stop/end the session at any time.
I guarantee my services.
If you do not leave your reflexology session feeling better than when you arrived, I would want to know how I failed your expectations, and seek an agreeable way to resolve any concerns.
